Kenya Hosts the African Premiere of RHINO for World Rhino Day 2026

The Tom Hardy–narrated documentary screens in Nairobi on 26 September, uniting the rangers, conservancies and partners behind one of Africa’s defining conservation stories.

NAIROBI, KENYA — [9 September 2026] — On 26 September, the African premiere of RHINO — a feature documentary directed by Tom Martienssen and narrated by Academy Award nominee Tom Hardy — arrives at the Trademark Hotel in Nairobi as Kenya’s flagship celebration of World Rhino Day 2026.

RHINO goes to the frontline of the fight to save one of the planet’s most threatened species, following the rangers, veterinarians and communities who stand between the rhino and extinction. It is a story of resilience and results — and a rare chance to see, on screen, the people whose work usually goes unseen.

Kenya is a global leader in rhino conservation, a position built over decades by rangers, conservancies, communities, veterinarians, researchers, government agencies and conservation organisations working as one. Every rhino alive in Kenya today is the outcome of that partnership.

The premiere is organised by Loisaba Conservancy, with lead sponsorship from Ol Pejeta Conservancy, Borana Conservancy, Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, Elewana Collection, Trademark Hotel, Dry Associates, Tusk Trust and the Pankaj Foundation. They are joined by the Kenya Wildlife Service and partners including Save the Rhino, Rhino Ark, the International Ranger Federation, Sera Conservancy and Big Life Foundation — a coalition that spans the length of Kenya’s rhino landscape.

The premiere will be led by Guest of Honour, Professor Erustus Kanga, Director General of the Kenya Wildlife Service. The evening will be hosted by broadcaster TerryAnne Chebet, with a live performance from Kenyan artist Moso Pal, a silent auction, and a curated showcase of Kenyan makers and vendors.

“Kenya’s black rhino comeback is nothing short of a conservation miracle — proof of what we can achieve when we all work together. This film honors the unsung heroes behind this success: the rangers, vets, scientists, and local communities who made it happen.”

— Justin Heath, Chief Executive Officer, Ol Pejeta Conservancy
