SAFARI TIPS

Creating the most unforgettable safari starts with how well you prepare yourself. Here are some tips to help you out

Protect yourself from the sun

With the sun shining brightly here at Ol Pejeta, it is important to have with you a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen for maximum protection from the harmful sun rays

Always stay hydrated

Make sure to always have a bottle of water with you. Also note that Ol Pejeta is plastic-free. Please ensure that your water is in an eco-friendly water bottle or purchase it from one of our shops

Charge your gadgets

The special moments you experience on safari are best captured on film. Ensure your phone and camera are fully charged prior to embarking on your safari and have them ready with you. Don't forget your binoculars

Carry your medications

It is important to carry your prescription or any medication you will need during your trip. If you are allergic to bugs remember to carry bug spray with you

Clothing

During a safari, we recommend wearing tan, green or brown (khaki) clothing. It is not necessary however brightly coloured clothes are not advisable as they stand out easily

Footwear

Proper footwear is essential for your safari. A pair of closed-toe shoes is recommended to protect you from dangerous critters

Layer Up

It is advisable to have a kikoi or scarf that you can use to layer up when the temperatures drop, to keep insects off your skin or one you can use as a small pillow or lightweight blanket.

No plastic

The use of plastic is banned in Ol Pejeta. Please make sure to have eco-friendly bags, bottles for a better experience at the conservancy
