You've experienced Ol Pejeta, and now you want to live it. Imagine having 90,000 acres of wildlife conservancy, right on your doorstep. With the Mount Kenya Wildlife Estate, this dream has become a reality for many.

If you dream of renting a house in East Africa's largest black rhino sanctuary, be it for a weekend or an entire summer holiday, look no further. With the stunning Mount Kenya as a backdrop, the fully fenced, 1,000 acre estate is not only for homes, but for wildlife too. It is home to the endangered Grevy's zebra and Jackson's hartebeest, and a host of other herbivores. The birdlife here is second to none.

The Mount Kenya Wildlife Estate is being sensitively developed to provide a maximum of 100 homes, ideal either as a holiday base or long term residence. The development is intended to provide financial support to the Conservancy, both short-term and long-term. By renting on the Estate, you will be directly supporting the work of the Conservancy, and guests are actively encouraged to get involved in the many ongoing wildlife and community projects on Ol Pejeta.

The houses are double storey, and there is choice of 3 or 4/5 bedroom properties, all ensuite. Each has a living room, dining room, fitted kitchen with store, and verandahs front and back on both floors, offering incredible views over wild Africa. Strategically placed water holes bring game close to all the the properties. Prices are from Ksh. 20,000 per night. To book, contact the MKWE office at

On the Estate, dangerous animals have been excluded, enabling residents to walk, cycle and ride amongst wild animals in their natural environment, a truly unique experience. Find out more about the innovation behind MKWE.
