Kenya has one of the highest HIV infection rates in Africa. According to Kenya's opendata website, around 1.6 million people in the country live with HIV. That's between 4-6% of the population. Thanks to efforts by the Kenya Government and NGOs, HIV awareness is now improving, and stigma toward people living with HIV is slowly decreasing. We at Ol Pejeta want to play our part in this too, so on the 16th September we partnered with the Ministry of Health to hold a free testing and general health Q&A session for our staff.
Members of staff listening keenly to the talks.
As well as offering free testing, the session included talks on other health matters and encouraged open discussions. This is the third health talk this year, and we aim to continue making this a regular feature of our staff calendar.
