Ol Pejeta’s K9 unit was one of the first private conservancy dog units in Kenya. We currently have a team of seven dogs, who support the armed rangers. The dog team includes bloodhounds and Dutch Malinois breeds, who were trained with the help of Daryll Pleasants of White Paw Dog Training.

Each of the dogs has a different speciality – from tracking the scent of a poacher, to detecting ammunition and attacking and detaining potential suspects.
