Nanyuki General Hospital Receives Much Needed Donations
Return to Our Latest News
Many rural areas of Kenya have inadequate health facilities. In Laikipia, health centers are often few and far between and lack the appropriate medical supplies to provide proper health care to the local populations. The Ol Pejeta Conservancy works with the Kenya Ministry of Health to improve current health facilities and develop new health related initiatives.
On the 25th of May, the Ol Pejeta Conservancy donated 230 boxes of medical equipment and supplies including commode chairs, wheel chairs and oxygen machines amongst others, to the Nanyuki General Hospital. This donation was worth thousands of dollars. Thanks to the generosity of Burnaby Hospital in Vancouver, Canada, and other Canadian-based donors, the Ol Pejeta recently received a container full of various medical equipment which was in turn donated to the hospital. It contained vital equipment that the local communities would simply not have access to.
