What better way to learn how to get the most out of your 4WD vehicle than on safari in a beautiful environment with rugged terrain, surrounded by wildlife.Come join us in Laikipia (Northern Kenya) for a fun filled weekend! In just 3 hours drive from Nairobi you can trade in the stress of traffic jams, noise and pollution for the tranquility and peace of the African bush!
Ol Pejeta Bush Camp is a traditional, very comfortable bush camp run by Alex and Diana Hunter and set in nearly 100,000 acres of the Ol Pejeta Conservancy in the Laikipia region of central Kenya, near to Nanyuki, right on the Equator. Mt Kenya provides a spectacular backdrop.
4WD COURSE TOPICS INCLUDE:
- Introduction to different 4wd Systems; correctly engaging and disengaging 4wd.
- Understanding torque vs. power.
- Wheel printing exercises (learning to read the road and placing your wheels in the correct place to traverse terrain).
- Stall-recovery techniques (recovery from a failed climb without using your clutch).
- Ascending steep, washed-out roads; descending steep inclines.
- Driving through water and traversing obstacles.
- Basic Bush Mechanics

Itinerary
24 October - Arrive for Lunch or later if necessary. Afternoon Game Drive. Opportunity to visit the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary. A GEPDS instructor will give an introductory talk on the 4WD course before dinner.
25 October - 4WD Course begins at 8:00. Two hours of theory followed by a game drive across the sanctuary where we can practice hands-on practical driving exercises in a variety of terrain. There will be a picnic lunch this day, followed by more practical 4WD applications. We will game drive back to camp at the end of the day. Optional talk before dinner by Ol Pejeta senior manager on various Conservancy projects on the ranch.
26 October - Opportunity for morning game drive or visit to the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary. Follow up session for questions and answers concerning the 4WD course. Lunch and departure to Nairobi.

Costs
Ksh24,500/- per person for two nights on full board accommodation.
Cost Includes: Ol Pejeta conservation fees, full board accommodation at Ol Pejeta Bush Camp, Glen Edmunds Performance Driving School 4WD Off Road Driving Course, professional instructors, and all course materials.
Does Not Include: A cash bar will be provided for sodas and beer, but please bring your own wines and spirits. Guest must also bring their own 4WD vehicles (with low ratio option) and supply fuel.
